- CSIRO has over 5,000 staff located across 57 sites in Australia, with a budget of over $1 billion. 62% of staff hold university degrees and CSIRO undertakes $500 million in externally funded research each year.
- CSIRO's areas of research include data analytics, health and biosecurity, oceans and atmosphere, agriculture and food, minerals, manufacturing, and land and water.
- CSIRO also operates the Autonomous Systems Lab, which conducts research in areas like persistent and bespoke robotics, reality capture and display, connected sensing, and pervasive sensing.
