Production Process Evaluation
Research
Strengths
One strength is that I liked seeing all the different styles for the products that I
am making and how they designed it.
Another strength is evaluating the different shirts and the effects/fonts used
for it to give me inspiration for my own shirt.
One more strength is looking at how posters were made back in the 1990s as
the style was so much different than how it is now.
Weaknesses
One weakness is that I was very restricted to what I was searching as there
weren’t that many t-shirts of what I wanted to look at. I could of made my
search more clearer. Also, it could have been fan made and proven to be false
products. One more thing is that there is not many products of the same
franchise which makes it difficult to find any posters, t-shirts or magazines.
Planning
Strengths
I already had three ideas that I wanted to do so that made planning more
easier for me while thinking about my colours for the product. Another
strength is making my moodboard because it helped to give me inspiration for
my product and give me more of an idea. One more strength is that I really
like the concept for my product and allowed me to be creative with my content
and characters to make a collage for my article.
Weaknesses
One weakness is that all of my planning was more of a narrow focus to what I
wanted to make and I didn’t think about or explore the other possibilities. I
could have explored other characters and added them to the mix. Another
weakness is I could of added more objects to my moodboard so I could look at
other things as well as figures. This would have made my original product
more interesting and appeal to a wider audience.
Time Management
I feel like I managed my time very well as I completed all the work I had to do
on time even though I had to make some improvements and been off sick and
was at home. I think that, with additional time, I would have improved on my
product. If I did have more time, I would have added more images and effects
to my poster because I don’t feel very proud of that. Also, I could of added
more things to my t-shirt such as text, effects, more images to make my poster
and t-shirt more strong and effective. Also, in magazine articles, they have
screenshots of in game footage so I could of also included that in my
magazine article.
Technical Qualities
Similar backgrounds
Similar foreground
Not promoting
anything
Promoting their
game
Similar text placements
Different saturation
Similar character placements
Text is bigger
than original
Mine has heading
original doesn’t
Aesthetic Qualities
I think that my
work looks
really good
because the
colours stand
out and the text
in bold colours
so it is readable
for younger
readers. It was
creative and I
really like the
mirrored
character. I have
also made the
visuals
interesting and
mirrored them
and the page is
fully covered
and provides a
lot of interesting
images.
I would
improve it by
changing the
saturation of
the
background
and make it
darker and
more gloomy.
The strengths
of making this
article was
getting all the
images
together and
making a
collage of
characters.
Also, I had a
lot of
information to
write about
for my article.
The weaknesses were that I felt that I worked better
when using the mac but it wasn’t always available to
me as it was restricted. Also, I had to download all
the fonts that I had previously downloaded again so I
could carry on with my text.
Audience Appeal
I have
appealed to
my target
audience
because it is
very colourful
and the
background
which is
suitable for
under 18s.
The content is
very easy to
look at and
the text is also
easy to read.
My
questionnaire
was a under
18s majority
audience.
Specific parts
of content
that would
appeal to my
audience is
the colours as
they are very
bright and
very
aesthetic.
Also, the
images are
placed evenly
for them all to
see so they
can see each
character.
They liked a
lot of popular
characters in
the article
based from
the
questionaire.
Peer
Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
I love the colour scheme, it’s bright, happy and visually
appealing and attention grabbing. I particularly liked the
layout for the audience appeal double page spread.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
The poster could have had a larger central image to fit
with the magazine cover.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– The visuals are bright and clear and the layout is very
eye-catching and is relevant to the topic. The theme is
clear throughout all products and the creativity in the
merchandise is well thought out.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– There is a theme of female figures in games but this
isn’t really mentioned and the competition of winning
money doesn’t give much clue of how to win it!
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
I really like the colours and it is eye catching also I really
like the layout of everything. I also really love the font of
the magazine article as it makes me want to buy it.
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
The hoodie would have been better without the tiny
images and have the bigger image lowered down. Also, I
would change the background colour so they know the
hoodie is turquoise.
Feedback Improvements
Hoodie
Based off of my feedback,
I have got rid of the two
tiny images on the
pockets and altered the
background to make it
more brighter. Also, I
have lowered the image
downwards to make it sit
on top of the pockets.
Feedback Improvement 2
Poster
I enlarged the central image
to showcase the main
character and see what she
looks like.
Feedback Improvement 3
Magazine Article
To improve my magazine
article, I added a bit more
about female characters and
added onto the competition
where the reader can win £500
worth of consoles.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree with the colours being bright and also, the fact
that I kept with the theme of what I originally planned.
Also, I agree with the fact that my central image on my
poster had to be made bigger.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
I disagree with the getting rid of the two tiny images on
the hoodie because I thought it was creative but I have
listened to the feedback and had to get rid of it because it
didn’t appeal to my potential customers.
Peer Feedback Summary
I would change the colour of the hoodie to make it more turquoise and lower the bigger
image to make it stand on the pockets. Also, on the poster, I would overlap the central
image behind the text and made it bigger so the people viewing it can see the image
better and read what the text says without it being covered up. Also, I would add more
about the competition on the article so it will say “Win £500 worth of consoles, text
PEACH to 94123 in order to enter”
