The Future Of College IT
Robin Gadd, the Head of Information Services at Brockenhurst College, gave a presentation about how the college can meet future technology demands. The presentation discussed understanding future policy contexts and learner expectations. It highlighted several technology projects currently underway at the college, including making data systems more interoperable, computing in the cloud for student email and files, and increasing mobile computing. The presentation predicted that the future will include more personalized learning enabled by technologies, partnerships between educational institutions supported by technologies, and a changing role for virtual learning environments. The future of technology in education was discussed as becoming more mobile, wireless, cloud-based, intelligent and personalized.
