This document presents a doctoral research proposal for a multiagent system (MAS) designed to support formative assessment in learning management systems (LMS), specifically targeting distance education. The MAS aims to alleviate educator overload by enabling continuous monitoring of learner participation, thus facilitating effective feedback and analysis. Implementation considerations discuss the integration of this MAS into existing LMS, such as Teleduc, alongside technological tools like JADE, Protégé-2000, and Algernon for knowledge representation and inference.
