Audience Survey
Our first question was about finding out about the different
ages of people who were answering our survey. From the
graph you can see that a majority of the people who
answered our survey, were between the ages of 18-24. This
will highly influence our decision in creating a trailer that
is correct to this age group.
Age is a very significant factor when referring to the
‘BBFC’, because we will have to include, or may not be able
to include certain things as they may not conform to the
BBFC rating.
Our next question was about finding out, what number of
each sex is going to complete this survey. However, from the
graph it is evident that the majority sex who completed the
survey was, males.
This is very good for us, as from our research, it is males who
prefer the genre ‘ACTION’. Gender play a very important
part, as stereotypically, females are known to prefer the
romantic genre,
The next question is about, how our audience members prefer
to consume media. It is evident that over the years, the internet
has affected the way in which we consume media, and this is
reinforced from the graph. The majority of answers said that
people prefer to consume media via Netflix. This statistic is
true, as the people who answered this trailer are all young
people, and young people are said to be ‘constantly on social
media’.
The cinema is still just as popular as Netflix, as some people do
not want to wait months, or a year for the film they so
desperately want to see, to come out on ‘Netflix’ or ‘Amazon
Prime’.
Following on from that, we wanted to find out who
people consume media with. From our results, you can
see that a majority of people said that they consume
media with their friends. This is good because, a
majority of people who answered this survey were
aged 18-24, therefore meaning that, the people they
are consume media with are their age.
The next question we asked was about what genre people preferred
most. This will influence our decision of what our chosen genre for
trailer will be
From the results, you can see that the most preferred genre was
action. There was no other genre that met the standards of the
action genre, meaning that we are most likely to create an action
trailer.
Our decision behind asking this question is, that these people are
our potential targeted audience, therefore, we want to create a
trailer that we knew they will watch.
The final question that we asked was about peoples
LEAST, preferred genre. This is because, we wanted to
know, what genre that we should stay clear of. The two
highest voted, genres were ‘horror’ and ‘romantic
comedy’ we will not be using any elements of these
genres within out trailer. From both graphs, it is safe to
say that we would be okay in choosing to do an action
trailer.

our survey
This is a graph to show the number of males in comparison to the
number of females, who answered our survey.
This is a graph to show, which sex voted for the ACTION genre more frequently.
Since males voted for the action genre the most frequent, it shows that
this is the genre they clearly favour over all other genres. Therefore, we
will most likely create an action film trailer because this is what our
audience preferred.
