The paper discusses enhancing the performance of a stand-alone hybrid renewable energy system (SHRES) through adaptive controllers for solar photovoltaic (PV) inverters. Two types of controllers, an adaptive and an optimized adaptive controller, were proposed to optimize the active power PI controller parameters, resulting in improved error reduction of 42.59% compared to the traditional tuning method. Simulation results showed that the optimized adaptive controller effectively manages fast changes in operation, demonstrating superior performance in managing PV output power stability.
