This document describes a remote switching system based on GSM radio networks that allows electric circuits to be switched on or off remotely using a mobile phone. The system uses two cell phones - a transmitter phone operated by the user and a receiver phone connected to the electric circuit. When the transmitter phone calls the receiver phone, a circuit is activated to switch the electric load on or off. Notifications are also sent to the transmitter phone about the current state of the electric circuit. The system was designed, built and tested successfully. It provides a low-cost way to remotely control and monitor electric devices using the widely available GSM cellular network.
