This document summarizes an REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) project involving the development of a micro-manufacturing system for automated micromanipulation. Students were divided into four teams focused on different components: microparts fabrication, 3D vision system, microgripper, and robotic platform. While full automation was not achieved, the components developed a semi-autonomous prototype. Student surveys found the hands-on research experience strongly increased students' interest in STEM careers. Continued funding is sought to further develop the system.
