DEFINITION :
Artificial intelligence (AI) aims on building machines
and software with intelligence similar to humans so that they
can perform similar thinking, reasoning, decision making,
problem solving and natural language processing like humans.
It is basically the simulation of human thinking performed
by machines or software.
HISTORY :
In 1950, Alan Turing a British
mathematician came up with an idea of
machines that can think.
MC Carthy was the person who created
the term “Artificial Intelligence”.
He also developed LISP which is a
programming language most commonly
used in Artificial Intelligence even today
GOALS IN AI :
To build a system that exhibit intelligent behavior.
To understand intelligence in order to model it.
CATEGORIES OF AI :
Narrow Intelligence
General Intelligence
Super Intelligence

HUMANOID ROBOTS
• A humanoid robot is a robot with its body shape built to
resemble the human body. The design may be for functional
purposes, such as interacting with human tools and
environments, for experimental purposes, such as the study
of bipedal locomotion, or for other purposes. In general,
humanoid robots have a torso, a head, two arms, and two
legs, though some forms of humanoid robots may model
only part of the body, for example, from the waist up. Some
humanoid robots also have heads designed to replicate
human facial features such as eyes and
mouths. Androids are humanoid robots built to aesthetically
resemble humans.
ADVANTAGES OF AI:
• Precision and Accuracy
• Space exploration
• Used for mining process
• Can do laborious tasks
• Fraud detection, manage records.
• Lacking the emotional side
• Can do repetitive and time-consuming tasks
• Robotic pets, Robotic radiosurgery.
• Function without stopping, Risk Reducing.
• Diagnosis and Treatment
DISADVANTAGES OF AI
• Cost incurred in the maintenance and repair
• Not able to act any different
• Lack the human touch
• Lack a creative mind
• Lack common sense
• Unemployment
• Abilities of humans may diminish
• Robots superseding humans
FUTURE OF AI
• Beyond negotiation, Moore says CMU
is betting several other AI areas are
going to be hugely important in the
near future.
• Self Driving Cars.
• Improved Medical Care & Treatment.
• Open up doors to future explorations.
CONCLUSION
Till now we have discussed in brief about A.I. We have discussed some of its
applications and its achievements etc.
The ultimate goal is working on AI is to solve majority of problems or to
achieve the tasks which we humans directly can’t accomplish. It is for sure
that development in this field of computer science will change the complete
scenario of the world. Now it is the responsibility of creamy layer of engineers
to develop this field.
