- 3. What is Artificial Intelligence? • Artificial Intelligence is The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.
- 4. Would integrating AI into daily living be more like the Home of the Future and less like iRobot?
- 5. What risks could we face from integrating AI into our daily lives? • One possibility we could face could be: where Artificial Intelligence gains sentient capabilities and decides to enslave or eradicate humanity. • The entire world could be more at risk for new types of warfare attacks.
- 6. What benefits could we come from integrating AI into our daily lives? • Robots are helping humans in a growing number of places - from archaeological sites to disaster zones to sewers. • The robots can gather data, squeeze into small spaces – even call an elevator. • Robots that offer help to patients in assisted living types situations or patients who need assistance that may be a quadriplegic or partially paralyzed.
- 7. Well, that doesn’t sound bad, But really is it safe? • Computers and robotics, including artificial intelligence, can be finicky. Integrating artificial intelligence into everyday life can pose a potential threat if the AI program gains sentient capabilities. • Artificial Intelligence could pose almost as many risks as benefits, by outlining the issues and taking all possible risks into account we could mitigate • With the proper safeguards and fail-safes in place, integrating AI into daily living could prove to be quite beneficial for a lot of people!
