LEARNING POINTS Interdisciplinary approach has allowed learners to: - Engage with global issues in new ways - Think creatively about interpreting an issue - Understand importance of teamwork across different subjects Effective “experts” are young people who have gone out and experienced an issue being taught themselves and who are a few steps ahead of learners in their careers
- 10. AVAILABLE RESOURCES Geography Ambassadors A pilot scheme run by RSGS to organise school visits with current Geography students. The scheme promotes the opportunities that studying Geoscience can bring. www.rsgs.org Explorers’ Stories An online open source environmental media resource database for education and public outreach. Platform for learners to engage with peers who have conducted their own research and travels. www.explorersstories.org Education Scotland Platform for interdisciplinary curriculum based learning resources for global environmental issues. Includes ‘Weather and Climate Change’, ‘Exploring Climate Change’ and ‘Ready for Emergencies’. www.educationscotland.gov.uk
