The Phaistos Disc was found in 1908 at the ruins of the Palace of Phaistos on the Greek island of Crete. It contains an unknown script dating to around 1458 BC at the end of the Minoan civilization. The Palace of Phaistos was one of the largest on Crete until it was destroyed in a civil war around 1450 BC, like many other Cretan palaces during this turbulent period.
