This document discusses how to create section views in AutoCAD. Chapter 7 covers cutting plane lines, which are thick phantom lines that indicate where an object will be cut. Leaders are used to show the direction of the view. Section lines, also called hatches, are automatically generated once a cut region is selected. Common hatch patterns include ANSI31 for cast iron and ANSI32 for steel. Hatches can be customized by adjusting the angle and scale in the Hatch and Gradient window. Boundaries for cut regions can be added by selecting objects or picking points.
