This document defines concept maps and explains how they function. Concept maps are graphical tools that organize knowledge through concepts (represented by boxes or circles) and relationships between concepts (represented by connecting lines). Relationships are expressed as propositions. Concept maps promote meaningful learning, provide additional resources, enable feedback, and allow assessment of learning. They are intended to be constructed hierarchically from general to specific concepts.
