This document summarizes the results of two simulations comparing different fiber Bragg grating (FBG) filter configurations for achieving higher channel isolation in dense wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) systems. The first simulation used a single FBG filter with uniform, Gaussian, or hyperbolic tangent apodization profiles, while the second used two FBG filters connected back-to-back, with the first using uniform apodization and the second using different profiles. For a data rate of 10.52 Gbps and 100 GHz channel spacing, the second simulation achieved lower bit error rates using Gaussian apodization, indicating it provided higher channel isolation than the first simulation or uniform apodization profiles.
