Com m itted to the latest research and trends on learning, intentional netw orking environm ents and m eaningful transfer exercises, he launched Event Garde, a professional developm ent consultancy, in 2011. Aaron earned a m aster’s degree in adm inistration from Central Michigan University (CMU). He’s also a certified association executive (CAE), a certified m eeting professional (CMP) and a certified tourism am bassador (CTA), as w ell as an Association for Talent Developm ent (ATD) m aster instructional designer. An active m em ber of the Am erican Society of Association Executives (ASAE), Aaron is chairm an of the Professional Developm ent Section Council (PDSC), as w ell as past chairm an of the Young Association Executives Com m ittee (YAEC) and a 2009-2011Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) scholar. Currently, he serves the Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) as a top-rated Academ y of Association Managem ent faculty m em ber on professional developm ent and as the lead CMP Prep Course instructional designer/facilitator. Aaron is also a nationally recognized presenter on professional developm ent, m eetings and events-related topics. His contributions to the m eetings industry earned Aaron the Convention Industry Council’s (CIC) top # CMP30 Influencer Aw ard in 2015. Likew ise, he serves on the Michigan Meetings + Events editorial advisory board and w rites a regular colum n for the m agazine called, “The Meetings Coach.” In addition to m aintaining the Event Garde blog, featured in both Alltop and Association Universe, Aaron has contributed to such national publications as Association Adviser, Associations Now , BizBash and Meetings & Conventions. When he isn’t traveling, Aaron enjoys exploring the local food and drink scene, transform ing his 1912 Spanish Revival house into a tranquil hom e and tending to various w edding day details. He is currently co-w riting a learner engagem ent e-book and pursuing certification as a Technology of Participation (ToP) facilitator w ith the Institute of Cultural Affairs.
