What is Data Communication & Management • Data communication is high speed data exchange between computers and/or other electronic devices via wired or wireless • Data Management is a technique to validate the user requirements by providing reliable and timeliness solution to satisfy the users data requirements

General Overview of Future Generation Primary School School Overview: • built in 2012 • 140 to 175 local students between the ages of 5 – 12 years old General Overview of Data Communication Setup: • All students with their own tablets for eLearning applications • All staff members have their own laptop and a tablet • All students must use their own tablets for writing assignments, • All students can access the Internet and undertaking school projects. • A Library has at least three PCs which require Ethernet connection including the PC for a librarian. • Each tablet must be connected to the school’s wireless network. • Each class room has also PCs for staff office and reception which require Ethernet connection to school’s LAN

Geographical Distribution of Future Generation Primary School The school has four major Blocks – • The Block A has 5 classrooms for Grade Prep to Grade Four. • The Block B has 2 classrooms for Grade Five and Six, as well as the Library. • The Block C has the Administration building which has a Reception area, staffroom, a large teachers’ office and the Principal’s Office. • The Block D has a multi-purpose room, server room, equipment storage areas and the cleaners’ store cupboard.

Basic Requirements for Data Communication • Support for all staff laptops • Desktop support and an online printer for all classrooms • Support for student and staff tablets • Web Server support and Web content management • Maintenance of the central file server in the server room • All Internet access is provided through a Proxy server which redirects all web requests to cached web content managed by the Victorian Education Department. This provides safe Web access to students and staff. It also ensures no student or staff member is exposed to pornographic or otherwise illicit or unsafe web content.

- 8. Data Communication Solution • Block A has 5 Class rooms and each class room has at least 20- 25 tablets for each students , also 1 PCs per class room. Each teacher has his own laptop and tablet. Also a wireless printer is required. Total Tablets connection (Wireless) require= (5* 25)+(5*2) + 5 =140 Total wireless switches require for each class room= 5 Total Ethernet connection require for PCs= 5
- 9. Data Communication Solution • Block B has 2 Class rooms and each class room has at least 20- 25 tablets for each students , and 1 PCs per class room. Each teacher has his own laptop and tablet. Also a wireless printer is required and a library. For Class rooms: Total Tablets connection (Wireless) require= (2* 25)+(2*2)+ 2 =56 Total wireless switches require= 2 Total Ethernet connection require for PCs =2

Total Tablets and Laptops connection (Wireless) require= 175 + 15*2+1= 206 Total wireless switches require= 1 Total Ethernet connection require for PCs= 1 (for librarian) + 2 (students)

Total Tablets and Laptops connection (Wireless) require= (10+4+1)*2 =30 Total wireless switches require= 1 Total Ethernet connection require for PCs = 4
