This paper discusses the design of a fuzzy-PID controller for load frequency control in interconnected thermal power systems. It emphasizes the limitations of conventional PID controllers, particularly their slow response to frequency variations, and presents a fuzzy-PID controller as an improvement, shown to provide faster responses and minimal overshoot. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is validated through simulations in MATLAB/Simulink, demonstrating its capability to maintain frequency within acceptable limits despite load changes.
