This document discusses the design of assistive technologies for people with intellectual disabilities like dementia. It outlines objectives like developing an understanding of the target audience and scoping design requirements. A conceptual design is proposed using wearable assistive information appliances with augmentative communication, RFID tags for location tracking, and an inconspicuous task guide with GPS. The design aims to help people with memory problems and disorientation complete everyday tasks independently without drawing attention. References discuss challenges in designing adaptive interfaces for context-aware assistance and alternatives to traditional caregiver interventions.
