What is Digital Media Digital media is not just video and multi-media, it’s all the digital content that helps you to communicate with your target audience Digital media is not like traditional text-based content - it’s visual and layered, and in the case of video -time-based. 
The Digital Media Student The Digital Media student works in a medium that is constantly updating.  Though students may focus on a main area of study:  Animation, Digital Video, Interactivity or Web, their creative solutions often cross these boundaries, or move into areas outside usual categorisation.  In the role of the Digital Media Designer, the student explores possibilities, develops new concepts, and presents creative solutions to contemporary issues.
Level 1 ~ Year 11  Digital media Students will be able to:  explore communication through the use of digital media.  Key Indicators Students will be able to apply the following core elements to one or more media applications:  Use simple planning tools to develop an outcome  Analyse aesthetics and apply techniques to produce an outcome  Understand technical functions of a digital media application/s  Understand and apply ethical practice to outcome/s  Develop and ensure appropriate functionality of outcome/s  Key areas of knowledge  Video and audio production – capture/record, edit, and export  Game authoring – design, create, and test  Layout and design – design, create, and publish  Graphics and images – create and/or manipulate and export  Animation and modelling – design, create, and export  Interactive media – design, create, and export  Web design – design and create
Level 2 ~ Year 12  Digital media Students will be able to:  communicate effectively through the use of digital media.  Key Indicators Students will be able to apply the following core elements to one or more media applications:  Use planning to manage and develop a project  Apply effective aesthetics to produce an outcome  Use the technical functions of a digital media application/s appropriately  Understand and apply ethical practice and relevant codes of practice to outcome/s  Critically review and evaluate final outcomes  Use creative and innovative techniques to develop an outcome/s  Key areas of knowledge   Video and audio production – capture/record, edit, and export/publish  Game authoring – design, create, test, and publish  Layout and design – design, create, and publish  Graphics and images – create and/or manipulate, and export/publish  Animation and modelling – design, create, export, and publish  Interactive media – design, create, export, and publish  Web design – design, create, test, and publish
Level 3 ~ Year 13  Digital media Students will be able to:  combine elements from digital media applications and apply relevant codes of practice to communicate effectively.   Indicators Students will be able to effectively apply the following core elements to two or more digital media applications:  Use planning tools to manage, refine, and develop a project  Apply effective aesthetics to ensure high-quality outcome/s  Evaluate and select a digital media solution  Use a combination of advanced technical functions from digital media application/s  Understand and apply ethical practice and relevant codes of practice to outcome/s  Critically review and evaluate the final outcome  Use creative and innovative techniques to develop an outcome  Effectively market and/or present outcomes to an audience  Combine a range of digital media applications to develop a solution   Key areas of knowledge  Video and audio production – capture/record, edit, and export, evaluate, and present  Game authoring – design, create and test, and present  Layout and design – design, create, and publish  Graphics and images – create and/or manipulate, and export, and publish  Animation and modelling – design, create, export, and publish  Web design technologies – design, create, test, and publish  Interactive media – design, create, test, and publish

Diploma of Interactive Design  Learn the techniques of: Web design Interactive design Video production Interactive game design and development
Diploma of Web Development Learn: Web programming Design and usability skills Build feature-rich, database-driven websites that are easy to use, look good and can incorporate complex features like, for example, shopping carts and auctions.
Diploma of Animation (Advanced) Diploma of Animation (Advanced) course includes animating, character design, modelling and rigging, visual effects and post production techniques.  Develop art and computer graphic design skills  Animation is all about capturing the essence of movement and making the unreal, real.
Diploma Of Video Post Production (Advanced) Transform film or video footage into a work of art.  Whether for film, television, music videos or commercials, post production artists are an integral part of the creative chain. Making moving pictures is based around three key things: production planning (pre production), production (shooting of film/video) and post production (bringing everything together to create the finished product) before the final screening. Learn how to use editing, effects, motion graphics, compositing and more, to develop the specialised skills needed to enter the world of broadcast television, film, video post production or creative advertising.
Pathways Digital Media graduates frequently find work in such areas as film production, post production, advertising, web development and multi-media.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT – MULTIMEDIA  (5959) Level 2, Credits 3 Demonstrate an understanding of digitising video for multimedia computer applications   People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe the use of a video digitising system; digitise video; and edit and store digitised video data in digital form for multimedia computer applications.
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT – MULTIMEDIA  (5960) Level 2, Credits 3 Demonstrate an understanding of digitising sound for multimedia computer applications   People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe the use of a sound digitising system; digitise sound; and edit and store sound data in digital form for multimedia computer applications.
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT – MULTIMEDIA  (5961) Level 2, Credits 3 Demonstrate an understanding of digitising still images for multimedia computer applications   People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe the use of an image digitising system; digitise images; and edit and store still images for multimedia computer applications.
