Definition of E-learning
An education innovation that has transformed the
use of traditional way of learning to the use of
modern technology such as video, computer, CD
ROM, internet, intranet, satellite, etc. to deliver
content of learning through electronic equipment
in various learning environment ranging from
learning with the teacher in the classroom using
computer, web-based learning and distant
learning.

 Supplement –
 part of classroom instruction
 learners make the decision to learn or not
 activities e.g. reviewing what has been taught,
doing exercises, or doing reading assignment
before class discussion, etc.

E-learning as tools
 Complement –
 a part of classroom instruction
 teachers assign learners to learn specific content
or search for specific info on the internet.
 learners do the activities designed by teachers
 work is evaluated at the end

E-learning as tutors
 Replaces teaching in the classroom. The
content is completed in itself and can be
divided into 2 types:
 Blended learning – combines online and face-
to-face approaches
 Fully online – truly online and learners are on
their own.
