DESIGN THINKING
ACTION LAB
EMPATHIZE AND DEFINE
•Teacher: Leticia Britos Cavagnaro
•Student: Francisca Echeverría Vargas
Let's change :
Context: desmotivation in the career.
Description: Every goes to class but in´st
go well to everybody. That produced a
kind of desmotivation in the student, and
the student low his academic permance
even more. Is a bad cycle.
Mode of teaching in the university:
Subject complexity
tutorial are not sufficient
This are subjects that require
extended additional practice outside
students home
Focus areas during
-To make the best of the spare times between
subjects, maing revisions and feedback in a easy going
way (groups).
-Beside from tutorials in which you only revise
exercises, it is important to make a little class from the
point of view of a peer who can help them understand.
-Sometimes the demotivation is the reason of low
development in class.
-It is important to make talks and give incentives such as
positive reinforcements. So the students grade not
necessarely reflect the real status of the students.
Observations from one of the
interview
-When someone enters a program make an instant
nivelation for a month or two. Evaluate differently.
-A class or workshop that is strengthening with the
minimum number of credits for which the student attend
and pay attention (the credit sometimes serves to
maintain fellowship and is a good incentive)
Observations from one of the
interview
-One possibility is to change the physical location of one
more pleasing
-More didactic activities in the fields that are possible
-Perform tutorials with incentive for assistance or point in
the test.
-Change in examination system
Insigth
SAID:
-Using a practical approach and teaching, which I hope
has been implemented in other universities. Apply it in
our classes.
-Watch the environment and change it to a more friendly
environment suitable for each subject for study.
-Use more classes of group work, so that between them
develop methods of study more effective for each
bouquet.
-Have a student of upper course that will be able to
explain how to better understand the bouquet or that
they can comntar possible ways of their study.
EMPATHY MAP
DO:
-The students obtain a true learning when they have the
right motivation and the necessary tools; no matter if
they do not get the best notes.
-In mathematics materials need a progressive process of
learning by which would be good to make a leveling
before starting classes.
- While more is the time of practice and in a good
atmosphere, you will get a better performance
-Sometimes patterns and extra hours, make the
difference. Along with good graphics for the assignatures
more difficult.
EMPATHY MAP
THINK:
-Universities maybe should focus in a nivelation on the
alums in the course of mathematics before start the true
mathematics in engineering
-A change in environment of classroom, or methods of
study will increase students motivation.
- It is necessary in addition to the teacher a teacher
assistant which can be placed in the place of young
people and that the figure of authority of another
teacher represent. Be a couple with more knowledge.
EMPATHY MAP
FEEL:
-The plan of teach for increase the motivation of
students in the career should be designed with real times
and positive reinforcement and maybe examples to
other universities and a contigence plan.
-The student motivation should be increase if they see all
the methods of study.
-Students need to feel part of the race, and need
constant support and motivation. This process must be
implemented progressively.
EMPATHY MAP
Problem statement:
My stakeholder: the experience of having completed
these classes, obtaining finally a beneficial result.
Understanding that sometimes need extra help and
motivation to be performed in stages.
Needs a way to: need a productive and enjoyable to
teach, as a student.
Because: Because students are discouraged just
because you do poorly and leave their bouquets. If we
motivate even though it will get learner's loos against but
that does not necessarily involve passing the class or
course.
