1) ORCID provides persistent digital identifiers that uniquely identify researchers and enable information interoperability by connecting researchers to their works like publications and datasets. 2) Over 2 million researchers have registered for an ORCID identifier which are associated with over 6 million publications and 50 thousand organizations. 3) ORCID benefits researchers by allowing them to enter information once and have it reused across different systems, and benefits publishers, funders and universities by enabling them to automatically collect and assert author affiliations and awards.

- 13. Example: Digital Humanities After Professor Andrew Brown studied classical and jazz piano at The University of Melbourne he worked as a keyboard player in touring bands through the 1980s. During this time an interest in electronic keyboards grew into a passion for music technology more broadly. This passion has fuelled an academic career in teaching and research at The University of Melbourne, Queensland University of Technology, the Australasian CRC for Interaction Design and now Griffith University.
