Editor's Notes

  • #3: The importance of alternative tourism – explain the alternative vs mass; How mass arises in the tourism market and how alternative tourism is an umbrella topic for all types of new tourism (Poon, 1993). Community Based tourism development.
  • #4: The main outcome/contribution to knowledge will be on the disciplines of management and marketing.
  • #6: This is the working concept of AT. How Alternative tourism is developing thought the years. All this types of tourism were new and creative for time lapse. All of them were extreme because they were new and different. Alternative tourism will always be an alternative to something that is mass and that is not attractive to the tourist. What this researcher will highlight is a conceptual definition of what is alternative from 2015 onwards.
  • #7: 3 pillars of Alternative tourism This is the result of a preliminary research with the key word: alternative tourism. So far, can be understandable that all types of alternative tourism highlighted can be alternative to mass, putting all the definitions together as mainstream, new, creative and on the edge of the experience, transforming what is mass into what is alternative.
  • #9: Both EU projects reflect the need for ICT development within SMTE’S to foster rural areas development. In the scope o this project I will only focus on rural areas.
  • #10: Greater contribution knowledge regarding alternative tourism and SMTE’S innovation practices and use of technology.
