Feedback Person 1:
Q1) What do you like about my work?-Why?
I really like how the lines of each poem have been incorporated into the images, skillfully enough that they
do not look like they have been merely tacked on. Furthermore, I adore each of the images themselves and
how they reflect the themes behind the poetry, the wide variety of colours and shapes displaying the
complexity of the production.
Q2) What do you think I could improve?-Why?
I think the reader sometimes has to strain to read what is on the page, whether through the
positioning of the text or the spacing of the letters and how they seem to be very squeezed
together.
Q3) Which is your favorite piece?-Why?
The front cover, because it displays a very centralised colour palette coupled with imagery that
some might find controversial, creating an interesting contrast, as well as successfully conveying a
steady theme of peace and understanding.
Q4) Which is your least favorite piece? – Why?
The poetry situated around the globe, because as I have stated above, it
can be difficult to read and strains the eyes.
Feedback Person 2:
Q1) What do you like about my work?-Why?
The bright colour scheme is continuous throughout which keeps it interesting to the reader. The graphics are
well thought about and structured extremely well.
Q2) What do you think I could improve?-Why?
An area of improvement for me is that there is a lot of white empty space so some
patterns or shapes could be added to the empty spaces.
Q3) Which is your favorite piece?-Why?
I like the pages on Slide 5 the most because the colours work extremely well together which
makes the reader feel comfortable. The colours are not over the top and they are calm. The
messages on there are well structured and relate to what the text is saying which I found really
effective.
Q4) Which is your least favorite piece? – Why?
My least favourite piece is the picture on the right of Slide 2. Compared to the rest of the images, it
doesn’t look as unique and there isnt as many graphics which make us think as much as the other
pages.
Feedback Person 3:
Q1) What do you like about my work?-Why?
I like the art style it is really unique and interesting and works perfectly with the theme of your overall
product, as it has a very soft but purposeful appearance to it.
Q2) What do you think I could improve?-Why?
I would improve some of the text as it is often quite hard to read especially the text between the lips, so I
would improve its visibility, whilst still aiming to keep it in theme with the art style that you have gone for.
Q3) Which is your favorite piece?-Why?
My favourite piece is the one of the earth as I thing this is a stylish page that uses a small range of
colours to create a vibrant image that is clear and presentable.
Q4) Which is your least favorite piece? – Why?
My least favorite page is the front cover, this is because I believe it to be too clustered, this is mostly down
to the doves, I think the sudden change in the outline thickness does not fit in well with the rest of the
design.
Summary
From receiving my feedback, it has a mix of improvements and positive comments. The positive comments all
consist of saying that my work is unique and personal to me. They have also said that the colour scheme is really
effective and clearly presents my work in an effective manor. These are two aspects I have concentrated on highly
as it helps portray my interpretation of Rupi Kaurs work effectively. The negative aspects I received was about the
lay out of the font. I can see why this may be confusing and strains the reader eyes a bit. However, my work is
David Carson inspired which is why I am wanting to make the reader struggle to read it. This means I have
successfully and clearly linked my work with David Carson.
The rest of the feedback was appreciated but didn’t show a consistent show of issues with my work. This shows
its more of a personal preference rather than a consistent issue.
Overall, I feel like I will revisit my font and the lay out of it so that the poetry is clearer. However, I am pleased that
my feedback has shown that my work is unique and different making the style I have done, my own.
