My Tools
For this Episode, visit a school / university or get a copy of the school brochure. Copy
the school / university’s vision, mission and goals on this page.
VISION
The J.H. Cerilles State College as leader institution in the development of
competent and skilled professionals who contribute to the promotion of quality life of the
people in Zamboanga del Sur and in the region.
MISSION
Pursuant to its vision, the college commits to:
- Provide higher professional, technical and updated instructions in various
disciplines;
- Undertake research, extension services, production program, advanced
studies and progressive leadership in teacher education, agriculture,
fisheries, forestry, engineering, arts, social sciences, industrial technology
health and other fields relevant to the changing needs of the community;
and
- Inculcate socio-economic, cultural, political, moral and spiritual values
GOALS
The School of Teacher Education commits to develop globally competitive
graduates with high sense of desirable values dedicated to the promotion of a just humane
society.
My Analysis
1. How important is the school’s vision, mission, and goals in designing the curriculum?
The school’s Vision is the statement on how the school view itself in the future
while the Mission are ways in order to realize the vision. The Goals are the school’s
purpose or what it wants to achieve. All of these are very important in designing the
curriculum in the sense that these three guides the school. They give the school sense
of meaning and purpose. Without these, the school will be a meaningless institution.
2. What methods and strategies were employed be the school community to realize these goals?
The realization of the goals comes from the different activities that the school had made during
the curricular year. These include regular classes and instruction, as well as, seminars and other extra-
curricular activities. The school distribute these activities within the year. They arrangethe activities orderly
according to its relevance. In this way, the goals will be attained easily.
3. How did the students manifest that they have internalized their vision, mission and goals?
The internalization of the Vision, Mission and Goals in a student can be best
shown through their actions. Attending flag raising ceremony, active participation in
campus and off-campus activities, joining community services and studying hard to
become competent are just some of the manifestation that show internalization of
vision, mission and goals.
My Reflections/My Insights
TheVision, Mission Goals and Objectives are the guideof the school. The
Vision is how the school view themselves in the future which will be realized
through the mission. The Goals are broad purposes of the school while the
Objectives are more specific and are realized from day to day basis.
Theschool must haveall of these. Even if one is lacking, the school will be
impaired. These elements are very important because they show the very
existence of a school. In fact, there is no single school that don’t have these
elements.
