The project aims to explore the use of Archivematica for enhancing digital preservation of research data in UK universities, addressing the gap between data creation and preservation. It involves collaboration between the University of York and the University of Hull, implementing a phased approach consisting of exploration, development, and proof-of-concept implementations. Despite its benefits, challenges such as installation complexity and the need for knowledgeable staff are acknowledged, while the solution is adaptable and part of a supportive community.
