FLUID SPEED AND PRESSURE

Bernoulli’s principle states that as the
speed of a moving fluid increases, the
fluid’s preasure decreases.
This principle can also be applied by using
water. This occurs because water is
moving faster than the air around it.
Factors That Affect Flight
Speed: This means a difference in pressure. The
result is an upward force.
Design: Air speed is above the wing is greater than
speed below the wing.
Shape:Air pushes wing upward.
Lift is an upward force on an
object that moves in a fluid.
Thrust and lift
Thrust is the pushing or pulling force excerted by the
engine of an aircraft or rocket.
Wing Size, Speed, and Lift
The amount of lift also depends on the size of
the plane’s wings.
Bernouilli and Birds
Birds dont have engines, so birds must flap their
wings to push themselves through the air.
Bernoulli and Baseball
Bernoulli principle can be also applied in baseball.
Here we can see how curveball path works.
Drag and Motion in Fluids
Drag is the force that opposes or restricts motion in a
fluid.
Turbulence and Lift
Lift is often reduced when turbulence causes
drag.
Pascal’s Principle
Pascal principle states that a change in
pressure at any point in an enclosed fluid will
be transmitted equally to all parts in a fluid.
Pascal’s Principle and Motion
Hydraulic devices use Pascal’s principle to move
or lift objects.
