WiseNet Wireless-based Solar String Current
Monitoring System in Solar Parks
Introduction
Megamic’s WiseNet consists of a large array of nodes, one per string. Each node
measures the respective string current with high accuracy at regular intervals. The node
then transmits the string current along with the node address wirelessly to a Central
Node, located within the Solar Park. The Central Node can interface to the SCADA
system of the Solar Park for centralized monitoring of the string performance over time.
Alternatively, the Central Node can connect to the Internet and continuously transmit
the string current data to a web-based server for monitoring from a remote location.
Features
 Measures Individual String Currents with high accuracy, +/- 100 mA
 Measurement Interval is Programmable, can be as low as 1 minute.
 Robust Wireless Network based on Mesh Topology
 Network made of Large number of Wireless nodes (up to several hundred)
 License-free, Custom RF based Wireless design
 Each node is powered by one of the Solar panels in the string itself
 Design does NOT use Battery, and does not require periodic maintenance
 Simple flow-through wiring using pluggable MC4 connectors
 Weather-proof, UV Grade, IP65 enclosure
 Low Cost per Node
 Customization possible
o Multiple String currents per node
o Summing Multiple Strings
o Integration of Other Sensor types
 Central Node interfaces to external Host over UART/RS-485
Optional
 Single-Board Computer based Host with WiFi connection
 Live Streaming of Data to Secure web server.
