Problem Solving
Practical and Technical Problems
 Equipment
One problemI have had with equipment was that my iPhone wouldn’tfit onto my
tripod so I had to invest in a GoPro for this project along with a flexible tripod and
stabiliser which meant I could take films without damaging the camera, film still
shots/smooth motion shots, acquiring the highestresolution and getting camera
settings for recordings for my film.

 Storage
Considering my GoPro’s SD card storageis small in contrastto a computer SD card
input slot, I needed to havea larger SD adapter to put the smaller SD card inside
of so that I could download, transfer, and transportthe files off the SD card into
my computers larger SD slot. The solution to this problem of getting storage for a
GoPro was to invest in a larger SD adapter.
Also, I needed to clear all the GoPro’s data from my computer’s storagesettings
because it was full and needed to be deleted for my futurerecordings.

 Power
When recording for my futurefilm I will need to make suremy Go Pro is
sufficiently charged, especially when travelling outside without a portable charger
because it could lose valuable recording time within a set location and the flow of
the recording situation that has already been set up, which could cause a
disconnectif a return set another day were to happen because the weather may
change or other factors which could cause more re-filming issues.

 Software
I initially did not have Premier Pro installed on my home computer and thus
especially with the COVID-19 lockdown situation I had to seek out the software
for future productions so that I could producefromhome, speeding up and easing
the difficult circumstances of the restrictions.

 Backing up (protect your data)
My primary platformfor backing up my data has been and will continue to be
primarily OneDriveto avoid the risk of losing data that could cost value time,
which would not in the interest of completing my FMP tasks.
My secondary way of backing up data is using my E-Mail as many files may vary in
ways that could causeissues uploading, there for it can be helpful when trying to
minimise the change of backing up a file that is corrupt, too large and/or not
designed or allowed to be sent through a specific system.
Theoretical Problems
 Working outside (temperature, light, weather)
Due to the corona virus restrictions, filming is likely to haveto be outside, making
constantweather checks necessary as poor weather may taint the filming process
by causing damageto cameras and altering the perspectiveof film sets that were
not supposed to be inclusive of a weather change. The solution would be to plan
carefully before, checking trusted weather websites like The Met Office to get to
grips with the weather in the week beforemy recordings so that I am prepared
for the weather.
 Actors, extras andmodels
Due to the Corona Virus restrictions, employing actors might become a
challenging task to put into place as it was banned to meet people outside your
household. These restrictions may lift, resulting in freer access to actors. The
solution to this if restrictions did not lift would be that I would use members of
my family as actors instead of friends.
 Transport
To avoid potential transportissues and coronavirus travelrestrictions, I decided
travel would not be my best option at this time also knowing that I do not have a
driving license causeaccess to freer transportation harder as well. Also, buses
have been inconsistent recently in terms of them running or not due to the virus.
My solution to this would be to do solely local filming as most reliable option as
there are places to record in my town and garden.
 Finance
The biggest investment needed was GoPro, which will be used in conjunction with
other aspects of my film career in the future. The problem was that I could not
afford it so I had funding frommy parents as they knew it would be a usefultool
for me and the family.
 Refreshments
Food and hydration are essential when shooting outdoors to keep healthy from
illness. This also helps gain energy for the tactical/focussing side of the filming
which can help get better quality shots since a clearer mind fromthe food and
water may lead to better decisions as well as an all-round physicalhealth.
 Job Roles
I will need one or two actors for my production. if corona restrictions lift in the
future, I have two friends in mind who would be happy to help. I have told them
roughly when I will need them to help.
