This document discusses free fall and projectile motion. It defines free fall as an object falling under the influence of gravity alone and a projectile as an object with both vertical and horizontal motion components. The vertical motion is affected only by gravity, while the horizontal motion is independent. Both an object and apple dropped from the same height will hit the ground at the same time, regardless of their mass. An example is worked out to calculate the minimum velocity needed to jump over a 1.5m high stair set that is 2m long.
