Fresher's quiz '18
Who are we and what we do?
We are just a bunch of like minded people who love facts and trivia and
reading and music and movies and etc etc.
We have quizzes, discussions, drills, book discussions and lots of things.
Let’s get started.
QUIZZING 101
Typical school quiz questions:
Q1. Who was the first man on the moon?
Q2. Who was the first woman to go to space?
A Proper College-Level
Quizzing Question
Who is welcoming whom during latter’s visit to
Yuri Gagarin centre in Russia?
How to attempt solving this?
Clearly something to do with space, given
the man in the back. You need to identify a
gentleman and a lady.
Here where the GK helps. The lady, a very
few of them would fit the timeline, would be
easy to guess, due to lack of choices. The
gentleman, 1970? Famous? What would
make the answer really cool?
Answer:
Valentina Tereshkova
Neil Armstrong
ANOTHER EXAMPLE
In the IPO filing for Google in 2004, rather than a typical round-number
amount of money, the company announced its intention to raise
$2,718,281,828.
What is the significance of this number?
How to approach?
So, Google is a technical giant. Hence, the number has something to do with
technology or it’s core i.e. mathematics. Now look closely at the number.
Does it remind you of something? Specifically the most famous number in all
of mathematics.
Ans- It is 1 billion times e (Euler’s
Number).
Enough of the lectures, let the fun begin !!

history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and
when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. It is fitting that
at this solemn moment we take the pledge of dedication to the service of
India and her people and to the still larger cause of humanity..………
