Individual Account - Journeys
When you log onto your
individual account, you
will arrive on a page
showing the journeys you
can access.
A Journey is
RoboGarden’s
terminology for a course.
These Journeys are
sectioned off into Blockly
or textual languages.
For more information on Journeys.
Road Map
When you click on
a Journey, you will
arrive at the
Journey road map.
The roadmap
shows you where
you are in the
Journey.
Look for the
RoboGarden icon
to find your
location.
Adventure Info
On the top left corner of the roadmap, you will discover an information icon.
When you hover over the icon, the Adventure information will pop open. It’s
important to read the adventure description so you understand the storyline
and occasionally, there will be hints that can help you throughout the journey.
Adventures
On the road map, there are 8 bubbles
located on the bottom. These 8 bubbles are
called Adventures. An adventure is a lesson.
In each adventure there will be a tutorial, 5 missions, and a quiz at the end.
Each adventure teaches a new coding concept while building on the one before.
For more information on Adventures. Click here.
Tutorial
The tutorial is essentially your teacher. It explains the
concept code block you will learn, along with a video
that demonstrates what the code does and how it
works.
Following the video, there will be a short two
question quiz.
In order to move forward, you have to pass the
tutorial quiz.
Missions
Missions are the units of study/assignments of each adventure. You must pass the first one
before moving onto the second mission and so forth. Each mission will be a variation of the
coding concept taught in the tutorial. The missions become increasingly more complex as
you move forward.
For more information on Missions. Click here.
Adventure End Quiz
At the end of each adventure, there will be a 4
question multiple choice quiz. The questions
varies between finding the correct code and
figuring out the outcome of the code.
These quizzes make sure you understand what
you just learned. It’s to ensure that you
understood the coding concepts.
In order to move onto the next adventure, you
must pass the quiz.
Menu Bar - Journeys
In the top right corner, you will see a horizontal menu. The green highlight
indicates where you are.
In this example, you will show up on the Journeys menu from slide 2.
For more information on Journeys. Click here.
Menu Bar - Dashboard
If you click dashboard, a pop
up will occur because you do
not have a school/summer
camp/after school program
student account.
As an individual homeschooler
account, you do not have
access to a dashboard.
For more information on Dashboards.
Menu Bar - Dashboard
If you exit the popup, you will
see the option to add another
child to your account.
Depending on the account you
have, it will indicate if you can
add more children or not.
For more information on Dashboards.
Experience Points & Coins
You can gain experience points by
solving missions and quizzes. Each
mission has a base score of 10 XP and
the base score is only added the first
time you complete that mission.
The quiz questions are weighted and the
weight is the XP. The XP can be
obtained if the answer is correct.
1 coins is gained for each 5 XP. You can
use coins to unlock the model answer of
the mission. Unlocking model answers
will consume 10 coins.
To unlock, click on “show model answer”
button in the settings menu of the
mission page.
When you unlock the model answer, you
can view it anytime you like. It will not
cost another 10 coins.
Profile
By clicking on your name,
you will access your
profile.
You can change your
personal information,
account information,
password, subscription
plan, and your billing
