Quiz module Module 1A:  Multiple Choice Quiz -  Learn to create Multiple Choice Quiz on your LIVEefc page; - Understand how to set up the quiz display; attempts and grading - Write formative feedback;   -  Check and manage your students results.
Quiz module Clicking on "Quiz" allows you to enter a feature where students can do a variety of quizzes created by the teacher and get feedback on their answers Add an activity...  Assignments Advanced uploading of files Online text Upload a single file Offline activity Chat Choice Database Feedback Forum Glossary Hot Potatoes Quiz Lesson Quiz SCORM/AICC Survey Wiki Workshop Quiz 1 This is the window that opens.. .   2 NB You'll see this:  the second time you come here
Quiz module The page scrolls down  to show these extra functions (advanced tutorial). For now,   we'll just save the defaults.  Click 'Save and display' See next 2 pages  2 1
Quiz module Choosing "apply penalties" means that there is a penalty for each wrong attempt  2 For real tests (not just unlimited practice) change this to 1 attempt. Adaptive Mode should be set to NO   If you choose Yes for this option then the student will be allowed multiple responses to a question even within the same attempt at the quiz.  1 2
Quiz module Remember to Click 'Save and display'  at the bottom of the screen (see previous page) Other Options:  It is also a good idea to shuffle the questions so that students do not learn a pattern when they retake the test.  Shuffling within the questions is also useful to discourage copying amongst students. 3 4
Quiz module Calculated  Description Essay  [[jme]] Matching Embedded Answers (Cloze) Multiple choice Short Answer Numerical Random Short-Answer Matching True/False Multiple Choice Click on “Multiple Choice”... 1 You could also Click on  “ True and False”...  as your quiz could be a mixture of question styles. 2 True and False
Quiz module This page appears, where you can input the quiz text and feedback for the answers. Write the title for this question here Write the question itself here, for example " Which is the world's longest river?" 2 1
Quiz module As the STCLive "help" function says, " You can use the general feedback to give students some background to what knowledge the question was testing. Or to give them a link to more information they can use if they did not understand the questions ." Scroll down the page.  General feedback is given after the question has been attempted, and is the same for all students regardless of how they did the task 1
Quiz module Scroll down the page again.  There are four of these boxes, labelled choice 1, 2, 3 and 4. In one of them you put the correct answer, in three wrong, or less appropriate ones e.g., here you would write   "The Amazon"  Here you would give formative feedback, i.e.: " Not quite - the Amazon is the second longest river in the world "   When entering: The correct choice, choose 100% as the grade from this drop down menu,  For incorrect answers choose 0%,  or a higher percentage, as appropriate. 2 1 3
Quiz module You can also,  in addition to or instead of: Feedback to specific questions,  Create generic responses, such as "well done" or "have a look at the notes for lesson 3.2"  Finally, click "save changes"   2 1 3 4

Quiz module You can edit the compilation of the test by clicking on the test and choosing edit You can edit the individual questions in the test by following the above route and clicking on the editing notepad for the questions in the test (left half of screen) You can edit the settings for the test by returning to the home page, turning editing on, and clicking the editing notepad for the test
Quiz module You can check your students’ results by clicking here.  If all students scored low on one question, this means that either the topic needs to be reviewed, or that the question was misunderstood and would need to be rephrased. 1
