Project Proposal
This project is being undertaken in order to simplify the
personnel and deployment management system within an
agency. This application will house all agency employees as
well as their training data and work title information. The
unique part of this application is the Voluntary Responder
Component. This component will be comprised of employees
that apply for specific positions, complete required position
specific training and possess the clearances to immediately
respond to an incident. The application process for volunteers
occurs before an incident to ensure that the agency has response
capability before an unforeseen emergency takes place. The
application also ensures that all employees get an opportunity to
serve on an emergency response incident. By having all of this
information in the same database makes it easier for dispatch
employees to put together the appropriate teams to respond to
emergency situations. At the current time dispatch employees
does not have a database that gives them access to all of the
needed information to successfully deploy responders in support
of emergency situations. Dispatchers have to go through several
different database and processes to gather the needed
information in order to put the right teams together for
deployments. The selection method that was used to select the
project was the scoring model. This method was chosen because
it allowed us to look at all of the relevant criteria and prioritize
them based upon the needs of the agency. We were able to
compare this project with two other similar project and score
them. By using the scoring methods it was easier for us to take
a look at the overall priorities of the project one by one which
was the most important factor at the time. This project had the
highest score which made it the project that we would go with.
The objectives of the project are: Modernize the current
management and training database by changing to the Salesforce
Platform. Develop a volunteer application that will house all
positions certification and give employees the ability to apply
to specific position announcements. Reduce the amount of time
it takes for dispatchers to deploy employees to an incident.
Project Objective
Modernize the current management and training database to the
Salesforce platform with in
12 months timeframe at a cost not to exceed $1,000,000.
