Online Backup Storage Platform The Online Backup Storage Platform consists of 3 key components and functions Name Server – user authentication Data Storage Server – data storage system where all backed up data is held in 448bit encrypted format WebAccess Server – Secure access to stored files from any machine with a web browser and Internet connection
- 11. Centralised Control . For larger installations, the customer can be provided with their own Monitor and Deployment Console (MDC) which enables them to allocate/reallocate licences and data storage across the user base within their own backup Group
- 12. Incremental Backup Software scans for changes since last backup. New files are compressed and added to backup. Modified files are patched against previous version in local cache. Deleted files are added to deletion list. Connect to Storage Platform and transfer. Once the transfer has completed the local cache is updated. On average patch backups are less than 1% of the size of the data selected for backup. 1GB selection ~ 10MB daily backup.
