- 1. How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
- 2. Technologies... • Digital camera • Garageband • Imovie • Free sounds website
- 3. Camera • A digital camera was used to film the trailer. We chose to film the majority of our trailer positioning our camera onto a tripod to ensure a level and steady series of shots. • Picture camera: I took pictures of our chosen locations of our film in order to give us a better idea of how we were going to film and to analyse whether these locations were suitable e.g. whether lighting would be an issue.
- 4. Imovie • Imovie is a software available on mac computers/ laptops and its function is for helping the development of films/visual pieces. • For us, Imovie was used to align all the clips we filmed for our trailer. It also enabled us to crop out/ cut and edit any scenes or clips that we did not need or that did not fit into the overall sequence(final trailer).
- 5. Garageband • This is software found on the apple mac computer we were provided with, and its purpose is for creating music pieces. • For our trailer production we used the loop feature on Garageband, these are short clips of melodies from all genres of music. The huge variety of tunes enabled us to be creative with our music choices and it also made it easier and quicker to create music; it meant that we did not have to make our soundtracks completely from scratch.

Freesound.org • This is a website that provides a extremely vast amount of sound effects with the sounds displayed on a free and open database meaning that anyone can share, upload or download any piece/clip of sounds. • We experimented with this for our shower scene in our trailer by exploring different water “whooshing” sounds, and we also used explored the “tumbling over” effects to use over one of the clips in our trailer where one of the character’s falls over; the sound effect here was to add to the comedic feel of the film.
- 7. Research and planning... • We carried out audience research to help us select our target audience. • Blogger was used to communicate our ideas to each other as a group • Also through “Slideshare” I was able to display my research on film promotion packages
