In this tutorial, we’ll be using
Drip

What is Drip?

Drip is an Email Marketing
Automation software that doesn’t
suck

Drip makes marketing automation
accessible to the masses

It can be compared to
Infusionsoft, Hubspot and Eloqua

But it’s more powerful and…

only costs a fraction of those
expensive tools

You can try Drip for 21 days

After that, you can start at
$1/month

Drip lets you trigger an email,
campaign or tag

Based on any action a possible
customer or current customer
takes

With Drip you can:

Build your sales funnel

Craft every interaction with your
leads and customers like an
artisan

Automate everything and

Capture leads directly on your
site

It works for any type of
business:

SAAS, Ebooks, Consulting,
etc.

Tutorial Objectives:

1. Sign up for Drip’s free trial

2. Create an opt-in form and

3. Set up an email marketing
campaign

Let’s start!

Open your favourite web browser

Search for drip

Click getdrip.com link

Click Try Drip For Free

Choose the Starter Plan

Click Get Started

Enter your details

Click Next Step

Enter your credit card details

You can also cancel after the trial

Click Start Using Drip

You will be asked to enter
your number of subscribers

and your phone number

Just choose 0-2,499 for the
number of subscribers

and enter your phone number

You will need to answer a few
more questions

After that, click Next Step

Skip the Javascript snippet for
now

Click the link Click here to
move along

Then click Set up my account

Alright! You have now signed
up for Drip’s free trial.

Let’s now set up your email
marketing campaign

Click Campaigns

Click New Drip Campaign

Give your campaign a name

Tip: Include “Campaign” in the name

Click Create Campaign

You will see this page

Your campaign is still a draft

Let’s set it aside for now

We will create an Opt-in Form
ﬁrst

Click Create a Form

Give your form a name

Tip 1: Include your campaign’s name for consistency
Tip 2: Include “Form” in the name

Click Create Form

Enter your form’s content

The Headline goes here

The Description goes here

Edit the button text

You can add an image (recommended)

Click Upload Image

Choose your image to upload

Choose image placement

Let’s choose Left for this example

The Design
section let’s
you choose
where to place
your form

Let’s choose
Lower Left Tab
for this
example

Here’s a
bigger picture

Click Save Settings

Click this to preview your opt-in form

It will open in a new tab

Alright! Looking good.

Now click Next

Hooray! Your Opt-in Form has
been created.

You’ll be taken to this page

Let’s continue setting up your
email marketing campaign

Currently you don’t have any
emails yet in your campaign

With Drip, it’s easy to set up
your emails with Blueprints

Click Browse Our Blueprints

Drip has a lot of email Blueprints

Let’s choose Follow-up (Sample Report)

Click Use This Blueprint

Now you need to decide the
following:

When and how often you want
to send your emails

You can edit the email
templates as desired

Choose days of intervals to send email

Click Remove to remove a draft
email you don’t need

Open the 1st email you will send

Edit the 1st email

Best practices for your ﬁrst
email:

Introduce yourself like
speaking to a friend

Mention your company’s
name or business

Repeat what your customers
just signed up for (campaign)

Highlight the beneﬁts they will
get from your campaign

Don’t forget to set their
expectations

Give a preview of what will
happen in the coming days

After editing, click Save

Edit the next set of emails that
you want to send

These could be:

Follow up emails

Bonus offer emails

Sales emails

Example:
Send follow up email on the 2nd
day after subscribing

Example:
Send bonus offer email on the 4th
day after subscribing

Example:
Send sales letter 1 week after
subscribing

These succeeding emails are
also know as drip emails

Here’s how a sample email
campaign looks like after editing

2 emails will be sent out after subscribing

First email will be sent immediately

Second email will be sent after 2 days

Click Next

Required: Enter your Postal Address
under Identity Settings

Timing Settings: Edit this section as you wish

Signup Settings: Don’t make any changes to
this section

Save ﬁrst your campaign

Remember: Emails will not send
unless campaign is activated

Click the Draft dropdown and choose Activate

Your campaign is now
activated

Alright! You have setup your
email marketing campaign

In this part of the tutorial, we
will

1. Install the Drip Plugin to
your WordPress account

2. Connect your Drip account
to your WordPress account

3. Activate the Opt-in Form we
created earlier

Let’s dive right in and ﬁnish
this!

Log in to your WordPress
account

Enter your Username or Email

Enter your Password

Click Log in

From your WordPress
dashboard

Go to Plugins > Add New

On the search bar, type
Email marketing by Drip

This is the correct plugin

Click Install Now

Click Activate

The plugin has now been
installed and activated.

You will see this page after
activating the plugin

Go to your Drip account to get
the Account ID

Go to Site Setup under Settings

Under 3rd-Party Integrations is your Account ID

Copy this

Go back to this page and paste your Account ID

Click Save Changes

Your Drip and WordPress
accounts are now connected

Go back to your Drip account
to activate the Opt-in Form

Go to Forms

Choose the Form we created

Click Activate Now

Let’s see if the form works,
shall we?

Go to your WordPress site

Here’s the form

Hooray! It works.

Congrats! Your form is now
activated.
