It’s a place to schedule, publish
and analyze all your posts

It shares your content at the best
possible times throughout the day

So that your followers and fans
see your updates more often

This helps you reach your
audience at the right time,

Drives more clicks and
engagement on your posts and

Gets you more trafﬁc to your
site

Buffer Plans

We’ll use the Free Plan for this tutorial

Let’s start!

First, you’ll need to create a
Buffer account

Open your favourite web browser

Type buffer.com in the address bar and hit Enter

This is Buffer’s home page

Click Sign up for Free

You can sign up using Twitter, Facebook,
Linkedin or Email

Let’s sign up using Email.

Enter your Email Address and Password

Click Create Account

Let’s connect your Twitter account ﬁrst

Click the Twitter button

Enter your Twitter Username and Password

Click Authorize app

Your Twitter account is now connected

Let’s also connect your Facebook account

Click the Facebook button

If you’re logged in to your Facebook account,
you’ll see this

Click Continue

Select your audience from the dropdown menu
and click OK

Click OK again

You’ll see your proﬁle, pages and groups that
you manage here

Select the proﬁle, page or group that you want
to connect

Enter your Facebook password and click
Continue

Your Facebook account is now connected

Click Set up my Schedule

You can change your timezone here

Type in your City and select it

Choose your time format

Click Looks Good! Continue to Next Step

Let’s choose your scheduling option

You can choose Find my optimal times or I’ll set
them manually

Find my optimal times - Buffer will choose which
times are best to post based on your location

I’ll set them manually - You’ll set a speciﬁed
time and date for your post to be posted

Let’s use Find my optimal times for this tutorial

Choose your social media account

Click dropdown menu to choose number of
times to post each day

Select a number

Click Calculate times

This is Buffer’s suggested posting schedule

Click Looks good! Continue

Select Track clicks on my posts

Click Looks good, let’s go!

Click Go to my Dashboard

This is your Buffer Dashboard

Let’s create a post

This post is going to appear on both Facebook
and Twitter

To make it appear only on Twitter, click your
Facebook account to deselect it

Alright! This post will now only appear on
Twitter

Click the Facebook account again to enable it

There you go

You can also do it vice versa

Now enter your post here

Click this to add a photo or video to your post

Select the image from your computer and
click Open

Image has been added to your post

Click the dropdown button

Click Share Next when you want to share it next
to your current post

Click Share Now if you want to post it now

Click Schedule Post to post it later

This calendar will appear

Select the date and time you want to post it

Click Schedule

The post and schedule is currently being saved

If you want to change the schedule click this

Otherwise, click Great, Got It!

Here’s the scheduled post in queue

Let’s create another post. Click here.

Enter your post

Select Share Now

You’ll see this conﬁrmation message at the top

Here’s the post on Twitter

Here’s how it appears on Facebook

Go back to your Buffer
Dashboard

Go to the Analytics tab of your Twitter account

This is where you will see the
performance of your posts

This monitors how many Retweets, Likes and
Mentions the post gets

You will also see how many Potential viewers
the post has

Let’s check you Facebook account

This shows the performance of the post on
Facebook

It tracks how many Comments and Likes the
post gets

Click this to connect more social media
accounts

Choose the type of account you want to
connect here
