How to make an Item Bank
Assessment
How to Log On to Illuminate
• Open a browser and type
bulloch.illuminateed.com in the
address bar.
• Click Sign in with Google
• If you have not already logged in
to Google in this browser, enter
your bullochschools.org email
and network password.
How to Begin Making an Assessment
• Click on Assessments
• Click on Create a New
Assessment
• Click on the bubble next to
Itembank
• Click Okay
Quick Mode Assessments in the Item Bank
• Click on the bubble next to
Assessment (Quick Mode)
• Click Next
Step 1: Enter Details
• Name your Assessment
• Fill out the Assessment Tags
• Academic Year
• Grade Levels
• Subject
• Click Continue
Step 2: Select Standards
• Select Type, Subject, and Grade
Level
• Scroll down and click on the
arrows next to the standard
group to drill further into the
standard.
• Click on the number of items in
the parentheses to add this
standard.
Step 2: Selected Standards
• Scroll up to select the number of
questions you want to include for
each standard.
• Click Modify Criteria
• Banks (Leave blank to use all)
• Types
• Multiple Choice
• Attributes
• Media Type
• Click Update Criteria
• Click Continue
Step 3: Select Exclusions
• This is where you can search for
assessments that you have
created or used in the past.
• Simply sort by keywords or by
academic year, grade level, or
subject. Then click Add
• If you have not created any
assessments, click Continue
Step 4: Generate Questions
• Click Generate Questions for All
Standards
• Check to see if all of your
questions were generated. If
not, click Re-Generate Standard
• Look over the items. If you are
unhappy with an item, click Re-
Generate next to that item. It
will then give you another item if
available.
What Next?
• Click Save to come back to it
later.

• Click Ready to Publish
Ready to Publish (Options)
• Edit the name of the
assessment.
• Add more items
• Look back over the assessment.
You can remove items if
necessary.
Ready to Publish (Options)
• Change the order of the items.
• Generate an item booklet. (Only
available if all of your items can
be administered on paper)
• Publish your assessment so that
you can administer.
Administering Online
• Click on Assessments
• Click on List Assessments
• Find your ItemBank Assessment
• Under Administer, click Online
Online Testing – Assessment Roster
• Click on Add Roster
• Choose the testing window start
and end time
• Select Academic Year and Grade
Level
• Select Section
Online Testing – Administration Settings
• Click Show
• Choose All Day or Daily Window
• Set Daily Start Time and End Time
• Make changes to Time Duration,
Student Pauses, Availability,
Browser, and whether you want
answer choices randomized or
not.
Online Testing – Tool Settings
• Click Show
• Make sure that Use Item Setting
is selected for each one.
• You may want to disable the
Digital Notepad
Online Testing – Assessment Review Settings
• Click Show
• Choose whether or not to Show
Results
• Student can see grade and see how
many he got correct/incorrect
• Choose whether or not the answer
key will be shown to the student
• Student can see grade and see the
correct answers to the questions
he/she missed
Time to Save
• Click Save
• Make sure the status bar says
complete
• View what students have
completed the assessment by
clicking the number under
students.

How to make an Item Bank Assessment

  • 1. How to make an Item Bank Assessment
  • 2. How to Log On to Illuminate • Open a browser and type bulloch.illuminateed.com in the address bar. • Click Sign in with Google • If you have not already logged in to Google in this browser, enter your bullochschools.org email and network password.
  • 3. How to Begin Making an Assessment • Click on Assessments • Click on Create a New Assessment • Click on the bubble next to Itembank • Click Okay
  • 4. Quick Mode Assessments in the Item Bank • Click on the bubble next to Assessment (Quick Mode) • Click Next
  • 5. Step 1: Enter Details • Name your Assessment • Fill out the Assessment Tags • Academic Year • Grade Levels • Subject • Click Continue
