Snapchat is a photo messaging app that allows users to send photos, videos, and messages that disappear after being viewed. It was created in 2011 by Stanford students as a way to share timed photos and videos. Key features include sending snaps to individuals or posting to stories, adding text, drawings, filters and other features to snaps before sending, and viewing snaps and stories from friends.
