From the home screen, tap the shutter button at the bottom of the screen to capture a photo and press and hold to take a video. 19 1 Flip the camera view by selecting the camera icon in the upper right corner. 2 Lenses & Filters Lenses: Activate lenses by tapping on the screen. In selfie mode you should see a web that maps your face and a toolbar w/ lens options at the bottom of the screen. In forward facing mode you can add augmented reality features. 1 2 Filters- After you take your picture swipe right to access geofilters and other options and left to access “Instagram-style” filters. T icon- add text to your snap. 20 1 Pencil icon- The drawing tool. 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 Stopwatch icon- set the amount of seconds it takes for your photo to disappear (1-10 seconds, or infinity but will be deleted once your friend closes the snaps) 6 Sticker icon- add emoji, Bitmoji, or your customized stickers to your snap. 3 Scissors icon- Photoshop- style editing options 4 Paperclip icon- attach a URL to your photo 5 Swipe right to include geofilters Swipe left to include background filters (similar to Instagram) Save to Memories and/or your camera roll Send to a friend, Stories or Our Story Send to Stories Delete
- 21. Tap your picture or tap the T icon on the right to add text. You can drag the text box by tapping and holding. Tap the T icon once to left align text, twice to center, and three times to return to the default text bar. Pinch to make the text smaller, bigger, or to rotate. Use the color bar to change the text color. The arrow in the upper left corner will allow you to exit the menu. 21 1 1
- 22. Pinch in or out to change the brush size. Heart- choose a heart and desired color Press and drag the color bar toward the end of the screen to expand your color selection. 22 2 2
- 23. • Add stickers to your snap: emoji, bitmoji, icons (like time, date and temp), and GIFs. • Top search bar allows you to search stickers (ex: spring) • Bottom menu gives you different sticker options, you can also access the stickers you cut out w/ the Scissors feature. • Resize sticker by placing two fingers and pinching it to the size you want, rotate sticker with two fingers • Add sticker to a moving object by recording a video and adding it on the preview screen. Tap and hold the emoji to drag it over the moving target, hold it over the object for a moment, and the emoji should follow the object. 23 33
- 24. • Edit your photo. • Arrow next to the scissors icon will undo your last action • Square with peeling corner- Use your finger to cut parts of the picture and create a sticker from it • Star icon- Magic eraser • Square with fuzzy center- pick a backdrop • Tint brush- change an objects color 24 4 4

- 26. 26 6 Stopwatch icon • Choose how long your photo/video is visible • Videos can be played once or on a loop • Can also select Bounce for a Boomerang/GIF style video 6 Actions at the bottom of the screen • Turn sound on or off, save to memories (you can also save to your camera roll) • Half rectangle with the arrow- save • Right arrow- send to a friend, My Story or Our Story Actions during the video • Slide finger on the lock to take 6 sequential 10 second video snaps (i.e. 1 long 60 second video)

Sending to Your Story Posting to Your Story • Tap the arrow at the bottom of the snap • Send to My Story My Story- A collection of snaps that you publish for your friends to view over a 24 hr period, you can watch as many times as you want during that period Our Story- A collection of snaps submitted by different Snapchatters surrounding a similar topic (provide different points of view). They are automatically created and hand-curated by Team Snapchat. Custom Story- A story you create that is only available to certain Snapchatters (added by either geofence or username).
