This document describes a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis of pump impeller designs using SolidWorks Flow Simulation (SWFS). The authors designed an impeller for a specified head, discharge, and speed. Two methods - circular arc and point-by-point - were used to generate the impeller vane profiles. CFD simulations using the k-epsilon turbulence model were performed on impellers with forward and backward curved vanes generated by each profile method. The simulations analyzed velocity and pressure distributions in the impellers. The results aimed to investigate impeller performance and identify an optimal design using CFD analysis in SWFS.
