- 3. Technology Integration So… What is it? Hmm… Well, first, what is it NOT? • Using technology for the sake of using technology. • Teaching every concept using technology – whether it makes sense or not. • Developing huge projects that consume all instructional time for weeks at a time.

Technology Integration So really… What is it? • The seamless use of technology in classroom instruction to help students master the content they are responsible for understanding. – Overarching procedures which aid in efficiency of instruction across multiple content areas – Content-specific technology application
- 5. Technology Integration Why do it? • To teach students curriculum mandated content. • To engage students. • To develop skills for future professional success. • To develop interest in lifelong learning.

Choose a Topic • When choosing a content area, ask yourself these questions: – Is this an area that I currently struggle to teach my students? – Does this match my existing objectives? – Does this lend itself to technology integration? – Do I have the resources to do this activity? – Does this activity allow students to learn and demonstrate learning in ways that I do not frequently use?
