Integration of Learning Technology Action Plan Emily Staffaroni EDTEC 566
Goals: Students will: create and publish personal narratives create a graphic organizer to organize their thoughts create a rough draft of their personal narrative self and peer edit their rough drafts type a good copy of their stories record their story on Voicethread and comment on their peer’s stories
Research that supports my goals: Besides basic literary skills, today’s students need technology skills as well By incorporating technology and writing together, this allows students different outlets to publish their work, receive and give feedback and increase awareness of an audience If integrating technology and writing, time plays a major factor – there needs to be a purpose and relevance
Mindtools used in this activity: Modeling domain knowledge (use of graphic organizer ) Modeling thinking (self and peer edits) Modeling experiences (telling story on Voicethread and reflecting on other’s stories)
Effect on students: Highly motivating to publish and record story Making their story come alive with pictures and photographs Increasing their awareness of an actual audience Providing an outlet for all types of learners that does not force them to focus on just their writing
Conclusion Hope to get all students finished rough drafts within the next two weeks Would like to show some students how to use Voicethread and allow them to then teach and help other students Invite parents to go on and listen to the stories and comment  Will hopefully be a permanent option for students to publish their writing pieces 
