SUGGEST  More than naming/give ideas/propose/put forward/recommend/advise on a course of action Mark per suggestion  May be linked with another instruction to justify their suggestion(s).
SUGGEST Suggest 2 uses for apples in cooking  (2) Suggest a good recipe making use of bananas (1)
OUTLINE  More than naming, but not a detailed description - a summary Marks will indicate the number of different points expected.  Candidate will not be expected to develop their answers.

OUTLINE  Outline a banana   (1)
WARNING Most pupils  write too much for this kind of question. Stop after one sentence – make sure you have made your point and move on.
DESCRIBE Outline (as above) plus an example/explanation or expansion.  One mark for outlining plus one for additional comment. No marks for simply naming/identifying.

COMPARE  Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of   the similarities and/or differences between methods/choices.  Answer should be structured in such a way that each statement compares a similarity or a difference. Justification or conclusions may be required.
Compare  For 3 marks you need to make 3 statements – each statement has to mention both fruits.
COMPARE  FOR 4 MARKS COMPARE THESE 2 PEOPLE
Explain Advise on the benefits/advantages of why a course of action or a proposed course of action has/had been taken
Explain Explain the advantages of having lots of fruit as part of your diet.  (2 marks)
Define Give a clear meaning
