This article proposes a sequence structure for distributed image change detection using a wireless sensor network. The system consists of multiple image sensors that make local decisions about changes individually and send them to a base station through a wireless channel. The base station then makes a global decision and declares whether a significant change has occurred or not. The technique uses four thresholds to detect local and global changes in the area being monitored. Two thresholds defined at the sensor level help each sensor make a local decision, while two thresholds at the base station level help in making the global decision.
