INTERVIEW
DEFINITION
Interview: A meeting of people face to face, especially for consultation.
Employer’s objective is to find the best person for the job.
Employer: Reviews candidate’s experience and abilities (RESUME)
Can you do the job? (skills, abilities, qualifications)
Will you do the job? (interest, attitude & motivation)
How will you fit into the organisation? (personality)
You: Impress employer and assess position on offer
What does this position offer me?
How does it fit with my career plans?
Congratulations - You must prove that you are the most suitable candidate for this position

HOW TO INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN AN INTERVIEW
1. Start by researching the company and your interviewers.
2. Dress appropriately for the interview and Be aware of body language.
3. Avoid distractions and keep eye contact.
4. Be confident and comfortable.
5. Rehearse your introduction with a friend. Prepare what to say.

Interviews are a useful method to:
• Investigate issues in an in depth way.
• Discover how individuals think and feel about a topic and why they hold certain opinions.
• Investigate the use, effectiveness and usefulness of particular library collections and services.
DOES A INTERVIEW MEAN I GOT THE JOB?
No, an interview is not a clear indication that you have the job.
PURPOSE:
It shows the employer what you can do for the company, and it gives you an opportunity to assess whether
your qualifications and career ambitions align with the position.
WHAT INTERVIEWER ASK YOU?
1. Introduced yourself: My name is ……., I am from…, I have my degree in…., I got first class with
distinction.
2. What is your strength: Honesty and helping nature.
3. What is your weakness: I cant say no when some one ask me for help.
4. (after this question they may test you by any activity)
5. Why you want to join our company or organization: It is my privilege to work with you. (also show
your interest)
6. What is your expectation about salary: As per company norm (if you have experience then talk as per
that)
7. Why you leave your previous job? (give answer as per positive way, if you realize them as you have in
trouble and then you leave means they may think you are not punctual with work)
8. When interview done: say thanks and after stand put chair properly and then leave your place.
