The Role and Functions of EdTech Arouse and sustain the interest and attention of the pupils/students Concretize abstract concepts/ideas to promote meaningful learning Makes learning more permanent because of the rich experiences that they provide Provide self-activities for independent learning
The Role and Functions of EdTech Increase vocabulary by eliminating verbalism Develop continuity of thought Increase the quality of learning while decreasing the time spent Check pupils preparedness Make learning more interactive, hence learning is improved.
Guidelines in the Selection of Instructional  Materials Size – is the material big enough to be seen by the farthest pupil? Color – is the material colorful and facilitates understanding? Durability – can the materials stand several uses? Economy – is the material worth the cost?
Guidelines in the Selection of Instructional  Materials Easy to handle – is the material light and easy to manipulate, put up and store for future use? Relevance – is the material up to date, related to the lesson particular and to the specific needs, problems and experiences of the target clientele? Novelty – does the material possess and element of newness?
