Introduction to Embedding Content

- 2. In this tutorial we are going to explore how to embed content hosted outside of Minerva.
- 3. Make sure Edit Mode is ON.
- 4. Enter a Content Area e.g. Learning Resources and then enter a Folder you have created.
- 5. Content can be embedded from the Add Content area of the Action Bar. Select YouTube Video, listed under Embed.
- 6. Enter the Search box with either the title (for a particular video), or keyword/s (be specific) and select Go and the results will appear below.
- 7. Identify the video you want to embed (you can select the video’s URL, which will open the video in a new tab to check it) and then Select.
- 8. Customise how the embedded video displays e.g. change the Name (and colour) and add a Description e.g. learning activity instructions, accessibility info.
- 9. Content Options: Thumbnail View will show full size when the View Link is selected. Embed video will show the video player directly on the page.
- 10. Associated files can be attached. By default the video will be available. Select Submit (or Preview first, to check).
- 11. This is how the video displays using the Embed View.
- 12. This is how the video appears with Thumbnail View. To change the View options, you will need to add the video again.
- 13. In Thumbnail View, the video opens in a player window and can be watched full screen mode.
- 14. You can also embed Flickr, SlideShare and Mediasite content in a similar way.
